How might the parents of an abused child feel?
Anger
May feel anger towards the abuser for hurting the child, betraying trust, cheating and manipulating.
May feel anger towards the child for not confessing earlier.
Guilt
May feel guilt for not seeing what was happening in time to protect the child (even when the person responsible for the abuse did their best to keep it hidden).
May feel guilt for loving or caring about the person who abused the child.
